And I didn’t even get a post done on Sunday!! Geez, what’s going on here! Pretty much the weekend was full of eating too much (Chinese buffet on Friday and then a local buffet on Sunday. Gah – way too much food!!!!) and hanging around TC. But it was a good weekend all in all. I got some chores done (though my list is still pretty long), managed a nap or two and finished a good book. As a bonus, since we weren’t cooking on Sunday we went into Bonifay to see a concert given by a local rising star – Grace Bailey. She’s only 15 – but had quite a stage presence! She was really singing her heart out for Jesus
. It was a good concert, and I’m glad we were able to go.
OK – for the daily pictures. I’m a failure. I’m giving up on the daily part of the plan (what a surprise!), but I will continue to try little interesting tidbits on a more regular basis. Honest.
But for now….remember how our home looks out onto a cow pasture? I think I posted some calf pictures before. Of the 30 cows that live there, almost all of them were (or are) pregnant. Right now there are about 16 littl’un out there, and they have been very fun to watch. Unfortunately, they mostly stay to the back of the field, so I haven’t had many good photo ‘ops’ (believe me, I’ve tried!). But Sunday afternoon I noticed a whole crowd of them right up against the fence pretty close to the front. I grabbed my camera to see if I could get any good shots.
But as I got close I could see why they were all clustered by that fence – two of their babies had found their way to the other side and couldn’t find their way back.
And my what a racket they were making!!! All was resolved shortly, though – and the “easy access” spots in the fence were fixed!
And at the risk of too many cute calf pictures – here’s one from the front field. He was actually right by the fence, so I couldn’t resist.
OK – that’s the last of the cow pictures for a while. I promise!
Maybe I should check for some chicken head shots?

How did it get to be Thursday already!!!! Like I said, this “picture a day” might not happen “every day” and it might soon be determined that it’s not even a good idea!
But here goes….
Tuesday – no picture, sorry! It was a cooking day, and while I guess I could have taken a picture of the 25 lbs. of carrots we cleaned, cut and roasted for dinner, it really wouldn’t have been that interesting! But Monday night was a scrimmage basketball game between the Varsity and Jr. Varsity teams here at TC. It was a good game – lots of fun to watch and boy, do those kids know how to run up and down the court! Here’s the opening jump shot…..

Wednesday –
About once a week the ladies here have a “craft day”. Someone in the group offers to teach a short class on some craft (hence the name, craft day!). I haven’t made it to any of them since I really have enough unfinished projects at my house, but this week it was on machine quilting! Well, I couldn’t pass that one up! Here are some of the ladies all working away on their machines. It was fun to go – though I didn’t lug my machine along and pretty much just watched and tried to help where I could.
Wednesday night we took a quick (?) trip to Dothan to pick up supplies the crew needed for Thursday. It was nice to be off campus – and we got to have a good dinner that wasn’t served on a green tray! Gotta love it!
Thursday – We ladies have been doing a Leslie Sansone walking DVD most days of the week and I thought it would be fun to try and get some pictures of that. That totally did not work, but I did get a couple of shots of the guys constructing a roof over the door of the doublewide. They are really doing a nice job, and by the end of the day had it just about ready for the metal roof.

Tonight we watched an IMAX production (without benefit of the IMAX theatre) of The Lewis and Clark Expedition. It was excellent. Earlier, as we were wrapping up dinner, we told one of the boys that’s what we were going to do.
“Do you know who Lewis and Clark were?” I asked.
“Mmmmmm, weren’t they friends of Superman?”
OK – I know who should see that DVD next!

Wow, we’ve had a beautiful weekend and beginning of the week. Today it was in the low 70′s and tomorrow is expected to be up to 80! We’ll be back in the 60′s by the end of the week (where we should be here in the Florida panhandle), but it certainly has been nice to leave the jackets behind! The morning started with a little fog, though, so I got a nice misty shot of the lake in the front of the property.

Here’s another at just a slightly different angle. You can see the new RV park up on the “hill” . Some of the folks are moving, but we’re staying put! I don’t want to give up my spot close to the laundry house!

Here’s some BIG NEWS -
Gary thinks he’ll be starting to work on the A/C Wednesday. I hope he can fit that in with helping me in the kitchen!

Today was a very special day for our granddaughter, Eliana Grace. She turned 5. Five. FIVE! Oh my goodness, just when did all that time go by!!!! I’m sure if we’re amazed at how fast those years went, Toby & Tammy must really be scratching their heads! But then again, they have their hands pretty full these days, so they probably are doing that much head scratching!
So here’s the birthday girl – looking very “5″ don’t you think!

And here are the two big sisters-

And if there are big sisters, there must be a little sister….
I can’t believe how much she’s grown and changed!!! And are those blue eyes???? Oooooooo
We thought it would be fun to compare Maddie at 3 months with Ellie and Hayley at (close to) the same age, so after a fair bit of searching through the archives -

Yep, I think they are definitely related!!!

See, I’ve failed already! No pictures from Saturday, though I could have documented my trip to Graceville (cute little fabric store had an open house
), or even taken some pictures of the families that were dotting the campus as they reconnected with their sons (and fed them all kinds of goodies from home!). I took my camera to church/graduation on Sunday to get some shots, but found that I had forgotten the memory card. Sigh. And then I carried it to the kitchen to maybe take some action shots (?) in the kitchen. Nope, forgot all about it while we were there. However, when we left we were treated to the tail end of lovely sunset – so here is your Sunday Picture – painted by the Lord Almighty himself!

Check the next post for some other very special photos for the day!
