Happy New Year!

So much to say, and so little time. Instead of trying to do a recap of 2011 or even a recap of last week (though you might see them in the future!) I’d like to close out 2011 with this prayer for 2012 (thank-you, John Piper!).

Lord, grant that we will love Christ above all things. And may we spend our pilgrim life learning to love this world les and heaven more. Put us out of taste with the delicacies of the devil, and give us a liking for the solid joys of Christ. Guard us from the allurements of the lodging of this journey, and fix our eyes on the end. And so, Father, make us useful to this world, loving, helping, serving here, while leading people up to God.
In Jesus Name,

  1. Many blessings to the Conrad family from the Pearson’s. May God continue using you to help others. May your blog be an inspiration to others who may be unsure of their role in life. May you minister in the spirit of love and kindness. May you provide comfort to the hurting, encouragement to the down trodden and as you travel from place to place, may you leave behind a piece of God’s amazing love for others to cherish. The best is yet to come.

  2. Thanks for sharing that wonderful prayer. For the last couple of months I have been trying to lead a Bible study at a facility for Alzheimer and dementia patients and it has been such a struggle. The prayer helped me remember to get my eyes off of the struggle and onto the goal.
    Have a blessed new year.
