Has it really been another week?????

The plan is that we are hitting the road tomorrow morning EARLY, so I figured I’d better do a little catch-up before it gets too late! It’s been a great week here in Lindale, where we have been reminded again how blessed we are to be a part of this ministry. And although I spent the lion’s share of Thursday and Friday and Saturday doing this –

there was also plenty of shared meals (that I didn’t have to cook!), catching up with friends, and a couple of rousing game nights. I am honored to serve on the Board of Trustees for SOWERS, and at the end of the weekend I think we all felt that we were on firm footings for the year ahead.
The one down side about the first part of our week in Lindale was that Gary was one sick puppy. He pretty much took to bed on Wednesday morning, and no one saw him again until Saturday. Ok, well, I saw him some, but remember I wasn’t home much! By Sunday he was mostly recovered, and by Monday we ventured out to the East Texas State Fair over in Tyler.

Now since we were there on a Monday morning, the Midway and rides weren’t open. Needless to say, it was a nice and quiet!

But even though the Midway was quiet, there was still plenty of interesting “State Fair Stuff” to enjoy!

There was the “Fine Arts” building….

Or the Livestock Barn (which just seemed to contain Brahman cattle of many different sizes on this particular day)!

And of course, it was easy to find all things (or maybe I should say Any Thing) Fried!

Really? Fried Cotton Candy? Really?????

Here’s my favorite shot of the day –

The Cow Wash.

By Thursday we should be at our October project – Stream of God Ministries in Luray, Kansas. This will be pretty new territory for us and we’re looking forward to what the Lord has for us there!

Off to bed – there’s lots to do in the morning!

  1. Safe travel, Stephanie & Gary. Please say, “Hi!” to Angie, Ralph, their 6 at home daughters, & Rod. Enjoy Angie’s cooking :o). Ed thinks the 8 yr. old daughter is 16. We think she’d love it if you tell her that too :o) Just for the fun of it. :o) Stay well.

  2. So sorry to hear that Gary was sick. Hopefully they didn’t work him so hard at the Bible Conference that it made him sick. He certainly did do a lot last summer. We miss seeing you at E FREE. I think we were in vermont around the time you were there. We love to vacation in New England.
    Blessings and safe travel. Barb
