Remember how I was talking about that being flexible thing? Well.
Here is how I thought the next week or so would be going.
Today – finish our our work here at Lake Forest Ranch. So many closets, so little time.
Friday – Enjoy a luncheon with other SOWERS in the area at the lovely Lake Tiak-O’Khata Resort and then return to begin to pack up to leave.
Saturday – Finish packing up and set out to enjoy a week of camping at the Isaac Creek Campground on the Alabama River. A lovely R&R break when I hoped to catch up on naps and sewing and reading. It was about halfway between here and our December SOWER project in Bonifay, FL, so it would’ve been an easy drive on both sides of the week. Reservations were made and we both were looking forward to a bit of down time.

Then our faithful SOWER office workers came down with the ‘Rona. Ray is currently in the hospital and Alean is mostly asymptomatic but not 100%. The office has been closed and is in the process of being cleaned/sanitized/disinfected/whatever. Thankfully we have a couple who have covered the office before and are willing to get there over the weekend to hold down the fort for the next several weeks. Doubly thankful for a second couple who are on standby in case they are needed down the road. Although the basics will be covered, next week there is a major mailing (that is not quite all the way printed) that needs to go out. Gary feels convicted that we should go and help out for at least a couple of days to help get that big task accomplished.
Today – Same as above
Tomorrow – Same as above
Saturday – Pack up a suitcase with a couple changes of clothes and head back to Texas in the trusty truck to lend a hand. It’s be a bit of a road trip adventure, and we’ll be sure to take masks and sanitizer and even a couple of face shields. Hopefully we’ll be back here in MS in time to finish packing up the RV to make the move to Bonifay in a timely manner. Campground reservations have been canceled, sewing machine is back under the table. Hopefully books can still be read and maybe even a nap or two will be taken!!

I confess I’m disappointed that we won’t have our anticipated camping time, but I’m also thankful that we can be available to help out as we are able. Plus, it’s really good practice for that F.L.E.X.I.B.I.L.I.T.Y. thing!

Oh – yesterdays WITWW location – Garden of the Gods, Colorado Springs, CO.  So beautiful there!
