Twenty Twenty One

We didn’t know (nor could’ve predicted, I dare say) how 2020 was going to turn out. And truth be told, as happy as we are to be done with 2020, we really don’t know what 2021 will hold for us either.  But my Heavenly Father does! And so my prayer for this new year can be summed up in this beautiful poem written in 1874 by Frances Havergal.

Another Year is Dawning

Another year is dawning, dear Father, let it be
In working or in waiting, another year with Thee;
Another year of progress, another year of praise,
Another year of proving Thy presence all the days.

Another year of mercies, of faithfulness and grace,
Another year of gladness in the shining of Thy face;
Another year of leaning upon Thy loving breast;
Another year of trusting, of quiet, happy rest.

Another year of service, of witness for Thy love,
Another year of training for holier work above;
Another year is dawning, dear Father, let it be
On earth, or else in Heaven, another year for Thee.
Amen

Another year is dawning, dear Father, let it be,
On earth, or else in Heaven, another year for Thee!

  1. Steph. The poem is encouraging and went along with Oswald Chambers devotion today on Hebrews 11:8. Today, I’m living the life I have dreamed about and yet have never experienced. By faith, moving forward, trusting God. Thanks for the poem and your encouragement.
    Blessings,
    Doug
