First Full Day

The sun peaked out today, but didn’t stick around very long. The day never really warmed up, so it was a sleep late, run a couple of errands, take a couple of snoozes kind of day. I must say – quite a lovely way to start our Beach Therapy!

For today’s Christmas song I’m sticking with the Gettys (because really, how can you go wrong with them?). This is new arrangement of an old English Carol (original poem published in 1872).

In the Bleak Midwinter

In the bleak midwinter,
frosty wind made moan,
earth stood hard as iron,
water like a stone;
snow had fallen, snow on snow, snow on snow,
in the bleak midwinter, long ago.

Our God, heaven cannot hold Him,
nor earth sustain;
heaven and earth shall flee away
when He comes to reign.
In the bleak midwinter a stable place sufficed
for the Lord God Almighty, Jesus Christ

Chorus
Gloria, Gloria! Now my eyes have seen;
Soli Deo Gloria! He salvation brings.
As the Lord has promised, I may go in peace.

What can I give Him, poor as I am?
If I were a shepherd, I would bring a lamb;
If I were a wise man I would do my part.
Yet what I can, I give him:
give my heart. (Chorus)
