Gary and I were privileged to spend the week following Elna’s Memorial Service in mid-May at the Cabin. It was a well needed respite, following those weeks of walking Elna home. Oh, how we were looking forward to that week. And just to make sure we REALLY got away from it all, God saw fit for us to have our turn with COVID. Thankfully, the symptoms were relatively mild – just a bad cold and the need for endless naps. And honestly, quarantining at The Cabin is really not that hard on the psyche. Between naps, though, Gary still managed to stay pretty busy. He had a project in mind, and COVID wasn’t going to deter him for a minute!
Can you tell what he’s building?
Yep, a floating dock!
Getting it to the pond without his trusty ATV (in for a Spring check-up) was a bit of a challenge, but the riding mower came through! Even if there was a fallen tree in the way!
Duck!
Trail blazing to the pond-
Getting it situated –
And dropping the anchor!
We’ve heard different reviews – seems it can be a little tippy, but I’m sure we’ll work out those kinks in the days to come!
All in all, though, I think it’s a keeper!
And that’s how Gary does COVID!
That is amazing that Gary made that dock!!! Of course I know he can do anything🥳🥳
AmazingGary! Do grands plan to come and use it? stephanie I too had a sister go home to be with Jesus this year. She was diagnosed just a year ago so the time was pretty short. I was blessed to spend some time with her 2 days before she went home, singing all the “old wonderful hymns†that we were raised with. It is a beautiful memory! She would mouth some of the words with me even if she could no longer talk.
I have had big changes in my life too as I’ve been diagnosed with pulmonary hypertension. I am on full-time oxygen, just spent a week in the hospital so trying to get my strength back. There is a drug Can take to stop the progression of the disease, but the WHO (world health organization) does not approve of it for Medicare patients (in other words if you are 65 or older?). I can get it out of pocket for $13,000/mo. Will see where this goes. God is my solid rock, I will not be shaken! What a blessing to be able to say that. Missing SOWERS! And you guys.
It took some brain cells to guess what he was doing but finally came! The hole in the middle – anchor???? Well, anyway well done during COVID! Guess he napped between times his batteries were charging !
Yes – the hole in the middle is for the anchor – a 5 gal bucket with 50 lbs of concrete! That part seems to be working just fine!
