Today was the day we finally did our “Lowes Run”. Now you might not think that going to Lowes is such a big deal, but for us, a trip to Lowes is an excursion! The hour-long drive begins here,
upgrades to a good dirt road
and finally paved!
We go through several small New England towns
(with their 30 MPH speed limits),
cross the Connecticut River into New Hampshire
and continue on more scenic two-lane roads
until we finally come to Lowes.
Needless to say, when we finally do a “Lowes Run” it’s a pretty big deal – and we spent about two hours in the store. Gary had a long list of items – everything from lumber and roofing to caulk and screws – to get the treehouse ready for use this summer. The good news is we had a special 10% promotional discount AND (as is always the case) there is no sales tax in New Hampshire. Gotta love that!
We made it home safely (after a yummy food truck lunch) and got everything unloaded. (Reality check – we took naps first!)
It’s all staged, and I have this feeling that it will be under roof by the end of the day tomorrow!
To finish off a practically perfect Friday, we were blessed with a lovely sunset too.
Thanks for coming along on our mini-road trip!
Keep the pictures coming in your progress!
Fun to “ride along via pictures†on your trip to Lowe’s! The treehouse project will be moving along now.
