See the sights!

This morning we awoke to dense fog. We couldn’t even see the Walmart across the parking lot! We camped over the weekend outside of Bethel Vermont, right on the White River (in a REAL campground!) Honest, we haven’t been spending ALL of our overnights at the Walmart, but the price is right so when we can we do!
The weekend really was lovely! We spent it with our friends Lynne & Roger Croswell, and their son James. They live in Danbury, CT, but have a vacation home in Ludlow, VT, so we spent our time between their place and ours. On Sunday we even made a quick trip up to see our Cabin in VT. I know, we’re not supposed to be there until later in the month, but we couldn’t resist!
We packed up and hit the road on Monday, and after visiting Mark Twain’s home in Hartford (right next to Harriet Beecher Stowe’s), we headed to Groton, CT and this lovely Walmart Parking lot! Today we did Mystic Seaport – again, just a lovely touristy day. Tomorrow we head to the USS Nautilus here in Groton, and then off to Newport, RI.

Since we are “dry-docking” (no hook-up), my power source and internet has been a little sketchy. Hopefully I’ll get this posted, and then over the weekend I’ll get some pictures on line.

Maybe even one of Gary’s Haircut!

Day 10 – and we’re still likin’ the plan!

Heading out tomorrow!

We’re wrapping up our time in Shrewsbury where we have had the pleasure of visiting with family along with seeing the sights of Boston and Old Sturbridge Village. We’ve also checked out the Staples, Home Depot, Bed Bath and Beyond, and Walmart, and yep, they’re pretty much the same where ever you are.
Tomorrow (Friday) we head off to Central Vermont where we will join our dear friends Lynne & Roger Croswell for the weekend. Don’t have any firm agenda, but we are certainly looking forward to kickin’ back with friends.
Hopefully over the weekend I’ll get a chance to add some details and pictures to our travel adventures so far. This not working keeps you pretty busy!

Oh, and in case you were worried, the haircut went just fine. =)
