May 1st – Can it be!?!?

Wow, it’s hard to believe it’s May already! And it’s even harder to believe that we’ve been on the road nine (yes that’s 9!) months. I’ll have to spend some time reflecting on all of the wonderful people we’ve met, the exciting adventures we’ve had, and the amazing blessings we received during those months. Right now I just want to let folks know that we’ve “landed” for the next three weeks at Summit Grove Camp in New Freedom, PA. It’s right off of I83, just about 18 miles south of York and about 2 miles north of the MD border. We don’t have our official “job” list, but I imagine that we’ll be doing pretty standard “get the place ready for camp” kind of stuff – doing minor repairs, cleaning up winter’s mess, and generally opening up areas for use. There are three other couples with us, and already we have been having great fellowship. We are anticipating another great month doing this Sower’s project – and will keep you all posted!

Made it to PA!

Phew, we made it into the state. We traveled in the SNOW all day Sunday. It was just a little stressful since it was also through the mountains of West Virginia and Maryland. By the time we landed in Hagerstown we were exhausted! Today we took a short hop to Carlisle where we were able to spend some time with my sister Joie, husband Fitz, daughter Abby, and daughter Hannah, her husband Brian, and children Exley, Brianna, Mason, Grace and Pierson. We had a fun dinner at Hoss’s and then came back to the RV for more visit time. The whole crowd didn’t stay the whole time – and as you can see by this picture, it’s probably a good thing!

Family is such a good thing! And speaking of family – check out the official family pages for new pictures of our darling grandbaby daughters!
I think I’ll be sleeping tonight with a smile!

Other Arkansas Sights

Besides the great new friends we made, and the lovely (well most of the time) weather we enjoyed, there was also the livestock that kept us smiling! Ponies, llamas, deer, buffalo, horses, goats, donkeys – some were in the petting zoo, some were free roaming, and some were actually wild!
Here is Beuford the Buffalo – he lived just up the hill from us. We just waved as we went by!

We really enjoyed the horses at SOTO. There were always some that were free roaming- and you never knew where you would find them in the morning. These guys just seemed to pose for us…

We took a long trail ride on one of our last days there. John took us across Big Creek and high up to one of the bluffs. This is a shot of Gary and I with a view of Big Creek behind us. I’m sure you can see why we loved this project!
