Happy Birthday, Jimmy Carter!

WOW – 100 years old! That’s quite a milestone for anyone – and a first for a past President of the USA! The nation celebrates with you!

But in our little corner of the world, we are celebrating this guy –
Reis-4
who is turning ELEVEN today!

As I was looking for pictures for his birthday card, I realized I had never done a blog post about Reis’s Lake George Adventure! This past summer (right after our big family reunion) we snagged Reis for his “The Summer that You’re 10” adventure. On the recommendations of friends, we concentrated our time at the Lake George RV Park. And let me tell you what – it was a little pricey, but with three pools (one of which had a great splash pad with a fabulous slide), a sweet snack shop, paddle boats, nightly entertainment and free bingo (a surprising hit for a 10 year old!) it ended up being money well spent! We started the trip with a stop at the Montshire Museum (excellent science museum – if you have kids, go there if you can!), and ventured off of the campground for some mini-golf and local eats, but by and large, the campground was the bomb. (Are old people allowed to say that?) Here’s a little slide show of our time – starting with that early start from the cabin, and ending with the RV heading back to Ohio! (Although, as I preview this, they seem to be in no particular order. Ah, technology!)

It was a very special week – with a very special grandson! Happy Birthday, Reis!! We’re so glad we get to be your grandparents and are privileged to watch you grow up to be the man God wants you to be!
We love you more than you’ll ever know!
