-we’ve wrapped up the second week of our SOWER project at Dothan Community Church! Today was our lovely “Saturday One”, and while sometimes we fill those bonus days with fun excursions and tourist-y things, today was all about bank statements, clogged shower drains, and laundry. Let’s face it, ordinary life happens even here! And we’re thankful for it! We have money in the bank to balance, the ability to take showers AND we have clothes to wash! Blessing abound!
Anywho – here’s a little update on our work. 🙂
The guys continued with the drop ceiling project.
So many rooms – so many squares!
Gary also hopped on his little rolling stool and got started on some outlets!
Isn’t that stool cute? And Gary too!
We ladies had a pretty light week. We were able to help out again at the Wiregrass Care Center (loved that!) and then we tackled an unusual assignment – cleaning out a plethora of 5 gallon paint pails so they can be reused and hopefully sold at an upcoming garage sale! (These are just from the primer coat. Pretty sure there is some job security here!)
There were also some boxes of toys and clothes that needed to be packed up to be sent to Africa!
By the end of the morning – we were in great shape!
So that was our week in a nutshell! The weather was a little rainy and cool so it was easy to stay inside and get the SOWER newsletter put together and focus on what on earth we are going to get those grandkids for Christmas! I even pulled out my box of Christmas decorations –
You just never know what Saturday Two might hold!
